At FarmCharge, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Android mobile application and web console (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

From the Mobile App:

  • Device & Battery Information: Battery level, charging status, temperature, current, voltage, and power consumption.
  • Device Identifiers: Device model, Android version, unique device ID (for pairing and management).
  • Usage Data: Interaction logs, scheduling preferences, automation rules, and error reports.
  • Location Data (optional): Only if you explicitly enable it for farm location tagging.
  • Network & Plug Data: IP addresses of smart plugs, plug status (on/off), temperature, power usage and configuration data from supported plugs.

From the Web Console:

  • Account Information: Email address, username, and authentication data.
  • Farm Management Data: Device names, groups, schedules, automation rules, and shared access settings.
  • Usage Analytics: How you interact with the console (pages visited, features used).

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health information, precise location (unless explicitly enabled), or payment details (we use Stripe for payments).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide real-time monitoring and automation of your phone farm charging.
  • Optimize charging schedules and reduce electricity costs.
  • Send notifications and alerts (if enabled).
  • Improve our Service through analytics and debugging.
  • Prevent abuse and ensure security.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Retention

  • Local data on your device remains under your control.
  • Account and farm configuration data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time.
  • Telemetry and historical usage data is retained for a maximum of 7 days. After this period, older data is automatically and permanently deleted.

4. Local vs Cloud Processing

  • Most core functionality (plug control, battery monitoring, scheduling) works locally on your network and does not require sending data to our servers.
  • Only data you choose to sync (e.g., for multi-device management, sharing, or analytics) is sent to our servers.
  • MQTT and HTTP communication with your smart plugs happens directly from your phone when possible.
  • Meross plug communication is done using their cloud infrastructure.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Hosting providers (Vercel), analytics tools, and payment processors (Stripe).
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law.
  • Team Members: If you use team sharing features, other authorized users in your team can see shared device data.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent where applicable.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable. However, no system is completely secure.

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
